DATASET OVERVIEW

Abstract

GPV (Grid Point Value) is meteorological forecast data calculated using the Japan Meteorological Agency's numerical forecast model. It provides forecast values for meteorological elements (such as air temperature, wind speed, humidity, and precipitation) at each grid point.

In July 2002, Oki/Kanae Laboratory at Institute of Industrial Science(IIS), The University of Tokyo acquired the rights to archive and store GSM-GPV data. This was subsequently made widely open via the Kitsuregawa Laboratory's data server. From 1 September 2025, this data will be openly accessible via DIAS.
